  • Describe the importance of utilizing a specialty specific framework when assessing a rheumatology fellows’ level of competence during the course of their training

Lecture: Dreyfus, Kirkpatrick, Miller and Bloom: Who They are and Why we Educators should know them
 
Learning Objectives:

  • Utilize the ACGME milestones version 2 effectively in the context of education-based theories of learner outcomes and assessments.
  • Recognize the practical importance and utility of various frameworks for learner assessment (Dreyfus Five-stage  Model of Adult Skills Acquisition , Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Evaluation, levels of learner outcomes, Bloom’s taxonomy of verbs for teaching, learning and assessing, and Miller’s prism of clinical competence) in the context of fellowship teaching, learning  and assessment.
